Flow cytometry is a key method for assessment of immune cells during health and disease. We use advanced flow cytometry together with plasma profiling and clinical data to improve our understanding of how the immune system responds to infection.

In this project the aim is to adapt and expand current flow cytometry panels to a new Cytek machine, enabling assessment of up to 30 markers in a single panel. The student will then apply this panel on different types of samples (PBMC, fresh- or fixed whole blood) and further compare the cell profile in healthy donors and individuals infected with fever after travel.

The student will obtain a strong foundation in flow cytometry during this project, which will be valuable for future research studies in especially immunology.
